Top 4 Employer Interview Questions

1.  Give me a quick overview of your current position, the company, and describe the biggest impact you have made?  Be prepared to describe examples of initiative or greatest accomplishment and HOW you did it. 

2.  Please draw an organizational chart and describe a team or management project you are part of and your specific role?  If you are managing a team of people, be prepared to describe HOW you built and developed your team.

3.  ANCHOR Question:  The employer may start out describing one of the critical SMART objectives that will need to be accomplished by the person in this position and then ask you to:  Please describe your most comparable accomplishment?     

4.  VISUALIZE Question:  Please describe how you would achieve our critical objective if you had this position?  Be prepared to state any information you would need to have and HOW you would organize and implement the task


 Glossary of Terms

ANCHOR - From an employer point of view it should be very important to get a past comparable accomplishment to determine a candidate's ability to achieve a critical SMART objective.

SMART - Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Result-defined, and Time-based. Example: Within 6 months improve factory production by 3%.

VISUALIZE - All candidates should anticipate and understand the performance requirements of the position. Good planning and preparation before the interview is critical. Examine your greatest SMART accomplishments and be able to describe HOW you achieved each one.

Key Factor: Past performance is a strong predictor of future performance. Your ability to successfully ANCHOR and VISUALIZE during an interview is a strong predictor of success.
